In 2023, voters passed Proposition A to create Denton County Emergency Services District No. 2, which provides emergency medical services to the same jurisdiction served by Denton County Emergency Services District No. 1.  

The creation of Denton County ESD No. 2 received an 89.2% voter approval rate.
